Catt[undecipherable] August [undecipherable] 200 130.33 . 69.69 679.7[undecipherable] 1 00 479.7[undecipherable] 169.6[undecipherable] 549.43] Rendezvous at Springfield 14 Sep.^r 1795 Sir, I received your letter of 9^th instant; and agreeably to instruction have inserted in the inclosed Muster rolls the necessary remarks. — I was sick the last of July which prevented forwarding the Muster rolls of that month. Ino Farnan, who is included in the inclosed rolls, was enlisted at Lenox by Ensign Thompson; but his inlistment was not reported to me till after I had forwarded the Muster roll, which has been returned. From a circular letter from your predecessor I extract the following instruction — "The Sec^y of War having authorised you to muster your recruits, and directed duplicate muster rolls to be transmitted to his office, [underline: I shall cause pay rolls to be made agreeably thereto, the amount of which will be remitted to you]" &c. This letter was dated March 1^st, 1790 Your letter above alluded to seems to imply that I am to make out the pay rolls, which are accordingly inclosed — I am, Sir very respectfully your Ob^d.
