Sir,
I have now the honour to transmit to you the Receipt of Captain Blackburn for three hundred dollars, paid him agreeably to Mr Hagner's Letter dated the 19th of August
The Receipt arrived but last Saturday— although the money was transmitted on the 22d August and before I had received it from the Treasury. The delay was occasioned, as Captain Blackburn states, by his absence from Alexandria.
