Sir You will receive from the Treasurer of the United States the sum of One hundred seventy nine dollars and fifty three Cents which you will please transmit to Ens. Charles Martin at Carlisle for the following purposes. The sum of One hundred forty three Dollars and 53 Cents is for the pay of himself and men under his Command, for July and August 1795. and the sum of thirty six Dollars is for the pay of two men from the 1^st day of May to the 15 day of Sept. 1795 inc. who are discharged, the service of the U. States for which sums you will please take his Receipt to be accountable to this Office for the due application thereof — also the further sum of five hundred dollars which you will please pay to L^t Col^o Thomas Butler at Pittsburgh for the Accounting Service and for which he will Receipt to be accountable. — I am Sir y^c William Simmons
