I received yesterday notifying that the Treasurer of the United States would remit from Treasury one hundred and fifty two Dollars and fifty Cents, which Sum have received, and agreeable to your instructions have paid the same to Augustin P. DeGrasse (Temporary Engineer) at Charleston, herewith you will receive his Receipt therefor — On my appointment as Agent for the United States, the late Secretary of the Treasury notified me, that I was allowed to charge for all monies passing through my hands, on Account of the War department a Commission of One per Cent, which has been regularly done, my accounts with the War department have been already transmitted to the Commissioner of the Revenue up to the 30. June 1795 — in order to be adjusted at the Comptrollers office — By a letter of the Commissioner of the Revenue of 9^th. March last, I am there directed to render my quarterly accounts with the War department, from 31.
