Sir Your letter of the 14^th Instant addressed to A. Park enclosing fifteen hundred Dollars in Post Notes is this moment received. My letter to you of the 14^th Instant informs you of the Establishment of a Post at Presque Isle, having greatly enlarged the field of Expenditures & an Estimate of the several Objects that had Occurred was then enclosed & to which I have again to beg your Attention, as delay of a Remittance on Post will Occasion a considerable Embarrassment to me & retard the progress of the business generally. On the 13^th I sent off two Waggons for the Stores left in the hands of Col^o Davidson at Bedford & expect their Return in the first Week of September. On the 15^th I sent forwards to Fort Washington thirty Seven Hogsheads Containing Cloathing Viz from N^o 1 to 36 Inclusive & N^o 39. together with Eighteen Bales of three point Blankets, being all the Packages of Cloathing that had then come to hand since which three [undecipherable: probable reading "Akits"] said to Contain Cloathing have been delivered Viz N^o 40. 42 & 44. which I presume are also to go forward as you have not yet intimated to me that any part of these Packages of Cloathing are Appropriated for the Troops stationed at the Upper Posts of the Ohio. My Draft in favour of John Wilkins dated Yesterday for Twelve hundred Dollars at Eight days Sight will be presented to you which be pleased to pay & Charge as usual. I observe that the Secretary of War is not so Communicative as his Predecessor, pray what is the Reason?
