The bearer hereof Charles Andrews an Express has charge of the sum of Two thousands five hundred & seventy Dollars, being for the Pay and Forage of the Troops stationed at the upper Parts of the Ohio for the Months of June and July 1795 — which sum he has received on Post Notes as [undecipherable] last enclosed — which sum is to be delivered to you and you will please forward your Receipts for the same —

The Secretary of War has drawn a Warrant in your favor for three hundred Dollars which sum will be transmitted to you by the Treasurer of the United States — to be paid to Captn [J.] McRee Captain in the Corps of Artillerists and Engineers at Wilmington for the Recruiting Service. You will please therefore pay the amount to him taking his duplicate Receipts to be accounted & transmit them by different Opportunity to this Office — Money for this purpose are generally transmitted at [undecipherable] of the Finance — but by the request of Capt.
