Your letter of the 12 Inst. enclosing Extracts of the Proceedings of the Council of Administration at West Point I have received, and in answer thereto have to inform you that the Secretary of War has directed that the monies remaining in your hands due deserters of the Corps - be applied to the Contingent Purposes thereof such as the expenses of transporting the money from New York to West Point - You will therefore keep a regular account of all payments made by you on that head, taking Receipts for each sum paid - which are to be transmitted with your Account to this Office. -
