the 1st of August, I have received and it not being complete
I return it to you for the purpose of being qualified to —
I enclose you some blank Pay rolls which you will please
make out agreeably to the Musters and transmit them to
this Office which after examination the Amount thereof will
be remitted to you. —

Your Accounts and Vouchers for pay-
ments made the Militia of the Southwestern Territory are now
under examination. I therefore have to request that if you
have any additional Vouchers to bring forward that it may
be done immediately as without them if any the preparing of
the Accounts will be much retarded — It has become my
duty to call upon all persons who have received Monies from
this Department to come forwards and account for the same
and return what money may appear on a settlement
due the United States to the Treasurer: on failure
