Ult^o. has been duly received enclosing a Pay and Muster Roll of such part of the Corps of Artillerists and Engineers as have arrived at West Point in the months of June and July 1795 and to whom arrears of Pay were due, The amount whereof upon examination I find to be Three thousand and eighty six Dollars and ninety six Cents including the Pay One Cap^t. Donald G. Mitchell and L^t. Henry Muhlenberg, which were omitted by you. The balances due Philips Rodriguez and Philips Landais Cadets, are not included in the above sum; as it appeared proper to State Separate Accounts for their Pay. — Nicholas Fisk Supervisor at New York is directed to pay You the following sums Viz! — Three thousand and eighty six dollars and ninety six Cents, being for the arrearages of Pay due such men of the Corps as have arrived at West Point in the Months of June and July last agreeably to the endorsed Receipt Rolls from N.^o 1 to 7. Three Dollars and Sixty One Cents, being a balance appearing due Philip Rodrigue Cadet on Settlement of his account for Pay to the 30.^th June last; and the like sum of Three Dollars and Sixty one Cents due Philips Landais Cadet being also a balance appearing in his favour on settlement of his Account of Pay to the 30.^th June last — The whole of which three sums amounting to three thousand and ninety four Dollars and eighty Cents you are to apply to the purposes above mentioned and for which you are to be held accountable untill the Necessary Receipts are Received at this Office. The transmission of the Pay of Cap^t. Thompson's Company for the Months of July and August agreeably to your Re=quest is suspended for future consideration. I am Sir J.^c— William Simmons
