[Deposition of Jacob Heyer & c M^cMean & Van Emburg — [stamp: (14)] [stamp: Recd 310] 1794] State of New Jersey } City of Perth Amboy } Js: Personally appeared this Sixth day of August 1795 before Andrew Bell Recorder of the City aforesaid Jacob Heyer who being duly sworn deposeth and faith that on or about the day of 1794 he received on board the Stage Boat called the Polly of which he was then Master, a number of Boxes of Arms and other public Stores to be conveyed by way of South Amboy in the New Stage to Philadelphia which were consigned to Major Hodgdon of the Department of War. And the Deponent further Saith that the said Boxes were delivered to him from on board an Albany Sloop and that three or four of the Boxes containing Muskets were at the time of Delivery uncovered and the said Muskets were in bad order and very [undecipherable].
