[738] Accountants Office July 29, 1795 I Certify that there is due to Timothy Pickenny, the Sum of [underline: ten Dollars], being so much paid by him at Non-us-tangues on the 19 November 1791 to William Bell, a Colonel of Capt. Kingsburys Company which Sum has been deducted from Said Bell on the Settlement of his Account. Vide Voucher N^o 361 in the Quarterly Settlement ending in Dec^r 1791. Doll 10. W^m Simmons Acct The Sect of War. Department of the Accountants Office July 29, 1795 By the Muster of Capt. Kingsburys Company it appears that John Canns a private was received in Company on the 8 Jul 1791 and by his Narrative he states to have been taken Prisoner by the Indians at that time, and that he remained a Prisoner with them until the 14 May 1794. It also appears by a Receipt herewith that on the 14 Nov^r 1791 at Non us tangues that Timothy Pickenny Esq: did advance to the said Canns the Sum of ten Dollars to enable him to travel to Philadelphia for the purpose of getting his accounts settled, this was not effected. I am therefore notwithstanding of Opinion that as it is probable that there may be pay due to him that there should be a Warrant drawn in favor of Timothy Pickenny for the sum of ten Dollars to inform him that Sum advanced to John Canns and for which he the said John Canns should be held accountable on the books of this Office — S H T.
