New London July 25, 1795. Sir, The letter which you did me the Honor to address to me on the 14 current has been received, and I have attended to the Objects referred to in it. By Inspection it will appear that I have included in the Muster Roll all my Recruits, distinguishing however those who were detached to Westpoint. I preferred this Method because they did not leave the Rendevous untill the last Day of June which completed a Month since the former Muster. You will I suppose have received a Muster Role for the Month of June transmitted by me on the 11 current. One of my Men who had been out in pursuit of Deserters, and whom from his long Absence I had considered as a Deserter has since come in. To prevent any Embarrassment I have made out the Muster Roll anew in which he is returned as missing. I therefore request that the former Muster Roll may be cancelled. The Account of Serjeant Blonks Expences inclosed, with his Vouchers, will shew the Grounds of my paying the Sum of 3^k. [undecipherable] to him as charged in my contingent Account. The Pay Rolls for myself & the Men remaining with me is made up from the Time of the last Settlement to the 1^st of the current Month inclusive.
