Experience shews that a great variety of articles are occasionally wanted for the use of your Department, the provision of which is attended with extra trouble & delay, when done in small quantities, besides [strikethrough: from] embarrassments [strikethrough: which] attend the [strikethrough: time] of settlements [strikethrough: of the] — pursuant to the established forms. — Beyond these difficulties, [strikethrough: attached to] affect the Purveyor & Superintendent of Military Stores & Supplies principally, yet it is desirable, that the one [strikethrough: citizen] of [strikethrough: these] no further duties to [undecipherable] as easy as pattible. I therefore request, if no Objection occurs to you, that an Invoice may be prepared of such articles as will to probably be wanted, that measures may be taken for placing them in the public [strikethrough: —] Magazines, subject to your disposal, in the manner contemplated [strikethrough: by] the forms prescribed [upon] for the Superintendent of Military Stores & Supplies.
