Capt Staats Morris. D. of War Accountants Office
West Point July 24th 1795.
Sir
In answer to your letter of the 22d Inst. I have to inform that the sum of one hundred and fifteen Dollars has been this day transmitted to Mrs Roberts thro' the hands of Nicholas Fish Supervisor at New York on account of the Pay of her husband Major Roberts from the 1st April to 30th June 1795 inclus—
In my letter of the 15th Instant to Subt Nehemiah Freeman Paymaster Pro Tem at West Point, I pointed out the measure to be pursued in order that all the men now at West Point may be paid in full to the first of this month. The additional bounty due to any of the men now at that Garrison cannot be well ascertained before the recruiting Accounts of the Officers are transmitted to this Office — I have directed Nehemiah Freeman to inform the Officers whose Recruiting Accounts are yet unliquidated that they must without delay transmit their accounts with Vouchers properly arranged for settlement to this Office that I might thereby be enabled to ascertain and transmit the additional bounty to those men at the Garrison to whom it is due —
I am Sir &c—
