Samuel Hodgdon Esq^r D. of War Accountants Office July 22^d 1795 Sir The enclosed account was lodged at this Office by M^r Richard Parker claiming a Compensation of five Dollars ꝑ Month for keeping the public Stores at Carlisle from 1^st September 1794 to 1^st August 1795 — I wish you, by annexing a Certificate on the Account, to say whether he is or is not entitled to the Compensation claimed by him. — I am Sir Y^r — William Simmons Nicholas Fish Esq^r D. of War Accountants Office New York July 23^d 1795 The Treasurer of the United States will remit you the sum of three hundred and Six Dollars & twenty two cents, being the amount of the Commissions due you for receiving and paying sundry sums of Money from the Department of War between the 1^st October 1794 and the 1^st July 1795 for which sum you will please to forward your Receipt. — You will please to observe that the sum of one dollar and thirty two Cents has been deducted from the amount of Commissions Charged in your Acc^t being the Commissions on the advances made to Doc^tr Lynch and Lawton, as Commissions cannot be allowed on unauthorized advances — I am Sir &c William Simmons
