falling yesterday in company with a citizen in trade & an observing man

asked what appeared to be the prevailing sentiment among the citizens

those who had the least or no interest immediately depending on the commercial articles of the treaty were dissatisfied

merchants who were directly & essentially concerned were satisfied

appointment for negociating

understood that the President had concurred with the Senate in the ratification of the treaty with Great Britain

not yet seen any motion for a meeting of the people here for the purpose of condemning it

republication of the resolutions of the Society of Philadelphia

came to hand last Saturday

contained two copies of his address to the national convention
