Sir, Your letter of the 11^th Instant, enclosing a bill of Groceries, is now before me, for which I am much Obliged to you, & I have yet to request you to send me a Barrel of Muscovado Sugar by the first convenient conveyance. A part of the Chiccasaw Goods are still on hand, it was the Q^r Master Generals Opinion that it would be improper to send them to Fort-Washington as there was more frequent Opportunities of sending them directly from this place than from Fort Washington, Mr. Anthony Foster informed me that he had directed a Merchant of Nashville to call on me for those Goods some time in October next. All the Goods for the Treaty have been sent forward, & I suppose those last sent are at Fort-Washington. A few Articles of Q^r M. Stores lately arrived, & are now on board a Boat that I have been Obliged to detain several days waiting the arrival of General Scott, who is to be accommodated with a Passage. I have this day drawn on you in favour of William Christy Merchant of this place at Eight days sight for five hundred Dollars which be pleased to pay & Charge as usual, and as the arrival of Colo. Rochefontaine has opened a large field of Expenditures I have to beg of you to remit me by next Post three thousand Dollars to enable me to push on the Presqu'Isle business with Spirit.
