The advance of 60^{[undecipherable]} made by Major Habersham, was included in my calculation, but not in my assumption, these together, amounted to the whole of Ensign Harris's pay and subsistence, from the date of his acceptance (1^st July 1794) to the 31^st October, to which he could have no claim on the U.S. [undecipherable] time.— I have the honor of enclosing to you copies of the orders I have accepted, and also of his receipt to me for his subsistence for the month of July.— His account for three months will stand in this manner.— Advanced by Maj.
