The Quarter Master General set off for Head Quarters on the 7^th Instant. on board a barge with [undecipherable] & expected to reach Fort Washington in five days — same day I sent forward on board two Kentucky Boats on Charge of [undecipherable] Sherrott all the Indian Goods Quarter Masters Stores &^c that had then come to hand, amongst those Articles was one large Case containing Stationery which I presume you intended should have been Opened here in order that a supply might be taken out for the Upper Posts, but as there was not time for that purpose previous to the Barge setting off I shipped the Case without opening, I am directed by the Quarter Master General, to make an immediate application to you [undecipherable] you other — I have not now than half a Ream of paper on hand, no wafers & but few Quills — I have enclosed to the Secretary of War a Statement of the Chicasaw Indian Goods I have requested his instructions respecting them, — please to remind him of it; a part of the Stores that appear to have been delivered by you to Matthias Slough on the 25^th of May is still somewhere on the way from Philadelphia.
