Sir, I have received your letter of the 20^th Ultimo enclosing a general Invoice of the Stores intended for the Chiccesau Indians — I Shall acquaint the D^r M^r Gen^l with [undecipherable] your solicitude to have the whole of the articles sent to Nash Ville as early as possible & take his Directions respecting them — he sets off from this place on board a light Boat on the 5^th for Fort Washington — The day before yesterday — Thomas Harrison Waggoner arrived & Delivered five Bales Marked "Indian Treaty" containing blue Stroud which it appears he received of George Grundy merch^t of Baltimore — It appears by by Harrison's receipt a Duplicate of which he produced that he had agreed for the Carriage of the 5 bales which weighed 1940 ^lb at Seven Dollars p^r Hundred & that he had rec^d of M^r Grundy forty Dollars only and was to have been paid the balance but whether at Pittsburg or Baltimore could not be Ascertained — I have [strikethrough: therefore] however [undecipherable] the ball he Being in Distress & have enclosed a a Triplicate of his account & have to request you to take proper steps to prevent a second Compensation being made for same Service — NB Harrison had lost a letter he said M^r Grundy had wrote me respecting the business The Establishment intended at Presque Isle will Considerably increase the expenditures in the Q^r.
