Pittsburg 3^d July 1795 Sir, I have received your letter of the 25 & 27^th Ultimo the former enclosing a letter addressed to Governor Mclain, which goes forward by this days Mail. Anthony Porter set off from this place on the 10^th of June having to said waited ten days beyond the time limited for the arrival of Indian Goods the last of which arrived on the 24^th of June by the hands of John Picard Maggoner, who it appears received his load in Philadelphia on the 13^th of May. — You will find enclosed an Invoice of the Articles allowed Mr Porter in Addition to those that have then Arrived. In consequence of a requisition made by late Butler I am providing for the transportation of the [strikethrough: Troops & Stores] destined for Presqu Isle, a small detachment has already marched to open the Road & make Roads for Cattle & Boats are now loading with Provisions, Entrenching & Artificers Tools &c to proceed to Presqu Isle from thence the transportation will be by land to Presqu Isle by Pack horses which I am now purchasing, I am also to provide several ox teams for the purpose of hauling timber & other materials for the works at Presqu Isle — these Oxen will also be employed in transporting the Stores from Le Bœuf provided the road from that Post to Presqu Isle is compleated in due time. Boats have been in readiness for transportation of the Indian Goods, several Waggons are expected this day & the morrow, the loads will be immediately Shipped & set off for Post Washington escorted by a Detachment under the Command of Ensign Trothingham.
