Naval Yards Baltimore 30^th June 1795. Sir As I have the honour to succeed M^r Hamilton late Clerk of this Yards, Agreeable to my Instructions, I now transmit to you a return of the Articles Received and Delivered by me, this month — I must beg leave to observe that the Shore being so crowded with the frame Timber in Rafts, it was found Impracticable at present to ascertain the Quantity of Jact contained in those last arrived except the 11 pieces Delivered & receipted for the rest will be Hooveld up & measured as soon as possible of which a particular Acct. will be kept, & returned a soon as completed — the Plank & Scantling Detained has been expended on the Publick Buildings & the Moulds, the greatest part of the Iron delivered has been sent for the purpose of Rafting Timber, the Remainder has been [strikethrough: and] used in the Buildings (which are now complicated) & Tools for Carpenters & Smiths, a particular Acct. is kept of every piece of Iron weigh'd out and & its Use a Copy of which if thought Necessary might be sent you at any time — I have the Honor to be you ob^t & only Humble Serv^t Isaac Garetson Clk N.B. as the Business is new to me, I may have omitted some necessary Information, should that be the case a line from you will be Immediately attended to upon a Garetson [Sam^l Hodgdon Esq^r.
