[151] [Received / State Dep^t / from / R.P.O. 401310.] [Major General Craig / 20 July 1795 —] Pittsburgh 20^th June 1795. Sir, I have received your Letter of the 20^th Instant, enclosing two thousands Dollars, in [strikethrough: part payment for pressing] in the Q^r Master Department. M^r Daniel Haragon agent for the Q^r Master Gen^d at Fort Washington, by his letter dated 9^th of May last informs me that Israel Ludlow, has paid Jonathony Daytons draft in your favour for 1300 Dollars, & that, that sum is Placed to your Credit in account with the Q^r M^r Gen^l. M^r Haragon also informs me that the money left in his hands by Col^o O Hara, being insufficient for the many pressing calls on the Q^r Master Department, he has been under a necessity of [strikethrough: —] taking up money to a considerable amount of the Merchants at Fort Washington & of drawing on me for the [strikethrough: several sums, two of these drafts have already been] presented. In consequence of which I have been under a necessity of drawing on you, Viz yesterday in favour of Jeremiah Barker at 3 days sight for 1200 Dollars and this day in favour of Wm Christy for one thousand Dollars. These drafts be pleased to pay and charge as usual — On the 24^th Instant I sent forward all the Indian goods & Q^r M^r Stores that had then come to hand, since which a few articles have arrived which will be sent in charge of Captain Bissell who arrived yesterday.
