Your letters of april 28th and 1st of June have been duly recd. I have recd from Colo Edward Carrington Supervisor, the Sum of Two Hundred & fifty dollars for the recruiting service, for which I have given duplicate receipts.
Serjeant Jacob Woolwins term of service will expire on the 2d day of July next. he has recd pay up to the 31st day of December 1794. You will please to forward to me the Balance of his pay & one years cloathing, also for one years cloathing, due to Ezekiel Gilbert, whose term of service expired in July last. these men belonged to my company, and came with me from the army before the last years cloathing was [issued —
I] ssued [to] Gilbert his pay from Joseph Howell [late accountant] but forgot to mention his cloathing.
I shall forward my pay rolls as soon as I receive instructions from the Secretary of war respecting musters.
