Pittsburg 19^th June 1795 Sir You will find enclosed an Invoice of Sundry Articles delivered agreeable to your instructions to John Vithins Jun^r. on the requisition of Col^o Clement Biddle — I have affixed the prices of such Articles as have been purchased here, on the first cost known; the value of the other Articles I presume can be ascertained in Philadelphia. By the arrival of John Denny in a small Boat from Fort Washington two large Packets are received from Head Quarters one of which is addressed to the Secretary of War & the other to the Accountant both of which are transmitted by this days affect. John Denny reports that on the 27^th Ultimo on his way up the Ohio at Grahams Station he fell in with the Mail Boat N^o 3 some of the crew of which informed him that on the 23^d as they were descending the Ohio between Big & Little Sandy Creeks they were without any previous notice fired upon from the Kentucky Shore by between twenty & thirty Indians, that a M^r Stout who commanded the boat was killed & two others mortally wounded; the remaining two men returned with the Mail Boat to Grahams Station, from whence Denny affected them with some of his hands to Galliopolis. N.B. M^r Stout had some time been employed to take charge of Mail Boat N^o 3 in place of Charles Bougam who was sick at one of the Stations. The Militia of Gen^l Morgans late Army retained in Service for one Months are arrived at this place & all the Stores and Camp Equipage transported to the Fort.
