Sir You will receive from Nicholas Fish Esq^r the sum of Fifty two Dollars being for your Pay for January & February 1795 for which sum you will give him Duplicate Receipts to be forwarded to this Office. The reason for your not receiving the money sooner is that your Pay was made up for that period in Cap^t Blackburn's Roll: and your having left Virginia before M^r Carrington received the money — it was returned here, and your Pay was made up in Cap^t Bruff's Roll from 1^st January to 30^th April — but thro' some mistake it appears he paid you but for the months of March & and April. Your pay in future will be made up in the Pay Roll of the Troops at West Point. — Sam Sir y^c     William Simmons
