I fore see that some regulation ought to be immediately made at the War Office for the settlement of the Subsistence rations of the Officers — in the present State of things, under the new Contract they are allowed nothing at all, because the Contract dont reach to them, and of course there is no price fixed to the rations beyond Fort Washington — What then is an Officer to charge for his Subsistence when posted beyond this place. I pray be so good as to have it determined, and let me know as soon as possible, as it is necessary as well for the information of M^r.
