Quincy Portsmouth Navy Yard June 5^th 1795] Samuel Hodgdon Esq^r Superintendant of the military & Naval Stores of the United States — Portsmouth New Hamp^re June 5^th 1795 Sir Enclosed is my return for the month of May, 1795 — also James Hackett Constructor's receipt for sundries delivered him by me, together with his receipt for sundries taken by me from Dec^r 20^th 1794 to Ap^l 30^th 1795 with the alteration as below stated — In my return to the 30^th Ap^l I committed an error in misplacing the am^t of White Oak timber delivered James Hackett, for what was on hand at that period — viz the 102 pieces 5344 feet to James Hackett in lieu of the 80 pieces 5828 feet — I have to apologize for the error & beg your excuse therefor I am Sir Respectfully Your Obed^t Servant Edmund B.
