Pittsburg 4^th June, 1795. Sir, Your Letter of the 29^th Ultimo with its enclosures is received. On the 8^th Instant all the Troops not under Inoculation fit for duty at this Post embarked Overcoming the Ohio under the command of Capt Richard Sparks in whose charge I have sent forward all the Indian Goods at that time on hand including the four Bundles of Wampum received of Charles Anderson together with some other Articles as provisional Invoice the whole addressed to the Quarter Master whom I have informed that Colo Alegre is instructed to take charge of all the Indian Goods intended for the Ensuing treaty. Notwithstanding the large quantity of Cloathing that appeared on hand the 1^st of April addition to that since received there was not an Assortment sufficient to Clothe the Recruits & they at last embarked without being fully Equipped not having any Linnen Overalls except Sixteen pairs that arrived with the last parcel of Cloathing. Theres still on hand a considerable number of Woolen Overalls, Rifle Coats, short Suits, Rachels & Trowsers & a few Stationary Hats but as these Articles cannot be applied as uniform of Cavalry, Infantry, or Artillery they are at present useless. Having furnished the Recruits with Blankets formerly in the Store House and forward them Bales lately received as Cloathing said to Contain each Fifty six Blankets (3 Point) which I presume only to be applied as Indian Goods. Boats are always in readiness for transportation of Troops & Stores. I deem needless my having detained a Detachment one Hour, nor Horses any longer than to load the Boats after their arrival. Every precaution shall be taken on my part to prevent the Contagion of the small pox being carried with the Troops.
