I find you paid John Ryley 3 dollars who was not inserted in the pay or Muster roll — his receipt therefore is disallowed — If he has any pay due him you will muster him in the next musterroll, and make him up in your payroll and the money shall be transmitted in the usual way — The account of your payments are passed to your credit amounting to $15-[undecipherable] which is the amount of the rolls deducting the $3[undecipherable] forfeited by deductions — In future when you have omitted mustering a man, you will make him up in the next payroll, and not pay any men whose names is not inserted in the Payroll for which you receive the money. D. of War Accountants Office Carlisle June 2^nd 1795 Sir By the Bearer Capt [undecipherable: probable reading "Bisjelle"] you will receive the sum of three hundred and fifty eight dollars and 46/100 being the amount of your pay roll after deducting One dollar and 64/100 forfeited by Henry Spangler a deserter for the months of [undecipherable] and April 1795 for which sum you are held accountable, and will give him duplicate Receipts to be presented to this Office — as your men are to march with Capt [undecipherable: probable reading "Bisjelle's"] party it is necessary that they should be paid before they march and that you should take their receipts to be transmitted to this Office your examination — If any of those men who are to march have enlisted since the 1^st January last, and are entitled to the bounty allowed by Congress you will transmit a list to this Office of [undecipherable] that the sum of four dollars [undecipherable] may be paid to them when they arrive at Head Quarters — I am Sir Y^r William Simmons
