Sir
I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 18th of May with its inclosures, which shall be examined with the rest of the Vouchers now in this Office. It would be a desirable thing, to have your accounts finally settled on the 30th June next, and then make a settlement each quarter commencing on the 1st of July next, this regulation would much facilitate the settlement of your accounts in future.
I have now to advise you of Capt. Bruff's having received the sum of four hundred dollars to be paid to you agreeably to your request for which sum you are held accountable and will give him duplicate receipts, to be applied in like manner to the sum of 1700 dollars last sent you. — I am Sir Yrs—
