Sir, On the 18^th Charles Anderson handed me your letter of the 4^th Instant. enclosing two Invoices of Indian goods &^c and on the 19^th He Anderson handed me two other Invoices of sundry Articles amongst which are two Bales of Blankets which he says he was under a necessity of Opening on the way in order to decide the weight, I am Apprehensive some difficulty will be occasioned thereby as it becomes necessary to open every Piece in order to Ascertain the number — I observe that the Blankets now coming forward are generally 3 Point. would it not be proper to apply such Blankets as are now on hand of that Quality of which there is a considerable quantity, The exact number I am not able without a great deal of labour to ascertain as they have been delivered to me in Bales without Particular Invoices. a part of these Bales I observe are Striped Duffled Blankets say one half and the Other half 3 Point. Perhaps you may have the Original Invoices in your posession of the Blankets sent forward with the Militia Army by which the Contents of the Bales now on hand at this Post may be found. — Your Letter of the 13^th Instant is received I am sorry Captain Herons Invoices came too late, perhaps his goods may yet be wanted.
