Pittsburg 13^th May 1795. Dear Sir Your Letter of the 8^th Instant is now before me. The Letter addressed to Major Kirkpatrick shall go forward by Post this day. please to communicate the Majors Questions, with your Answers thereto, as it is probable a sufficient light will thereby be thrown on some parts of the Commissary Department that at present are rather obscure. The Cloathing now on the way will not [strikethrough: be adequate to the wants of the Recruits as their] number is daily increasing, and already amount to upwards of three Hundred. I am therefore requested by Colo Butler to apply for one Hundred Suits Infantry Cloathing, and Seventy Cavalry Cloathing. [In addition to that now on the way] I have therefore to request your immediate attention to this business. On the 29^th Ultimo I enclosed to you an Invoice of Indian Goods the property of Capt Heron, which he offers to the United States, & now wishes to know whether they are wanted or not, please to inform me by your next.
