Description

Acknowledged receipt of several letters from Pickering delivered by Capt. DeButts. Discussed pay of legions recruits. Included quarterly returns of ordnance. Many men have been deserting, some have been recovered in Cincinnati. Hopes to retain more men, believed that advice given by Pickering for retaining soldiers would have defeated recruiting efforts. Hopes recruits and artillerists will arrive for the Indian treaty as the British emissaries try to prevent the treaty from taking place. Additional discussion of land rights and appointments of ensigns and cornets.
