D of War Accountants Office May 11^th 1795 Rich^d Harrison Esq^r Auditor of the Treasury Sir Isaac Craig Esq^r Deputy Quarter Master General at Pittsburg was called upon by the Secretary of War on the 22^d November 1793 to Act as Paymaster to the Troops stationed at the upper posts of the Ohio for which services he was promised a reasonable compensation — should he in his account as Q^r Master rendered at your Office have made any charges which should properly come before this Department — I would advise those be dedicated to be settled and admitted to his credit in this Office, as he now has a considerable sum of Public money in his hands from this Department unappropriated. — I am Sir Y^r — William Simmons
