Auditor of the Treasury
Sir
Isaac Craig Esqr Deputy Quarter Master General at Pittsburg was called upon by the Secretary of War on the 22d November 1793 to Act as Paymaster to the Troops stationed at the upper posts of the Ohio for which services he was promised a reasonable compensation — should he in his account as Qr Master rendered at your Office have made any charges which should properly come before this Department — I would advise those be dedicated to be settled and admitted to his credit in this Office, as he now has a considerable sum of Public money in his hands from this Department unappropriated. —
