Philad^a April 27^th 1795 Sir The great mistake that has happened in the size of the floor bolts which happened thro the Commissioner of the Revenue will if they are made to the size of the War Office Directions, cost a large Sum of Money, in Order to prevent that expence if possible, I wish your Opinion whether the Ships will be as well secured if the floors should be single bolted, with the bolts of the Size they now are, which are ⅞ of an Inch or what we call here 1 7/4 bolts, the size of the Auger, Both your reasons for or against it which, I wish you to Communicate to me as soon as you have made up your mind.
