Pay Rolls Due at the End of Each Two-Month Period
Document 1795It is expected that in the future every officer will make out their own pay rolls and transmit them with their muster rolls at the end of each two-month period. An examination will then take place and the amounts therein will be transmitted through the usual channels.
April 27. 1795 To Lt. John. McClallen Dep. of War A Office April 27.1795 Sir, It is intended for the future that each Officer must make out his own pay rolls, I therefore enclose you some blank rolls one of which together with the Musters you will at the expiration of every two months transmit to this office when an examination will take place and the amount thereof transmitted to you through the usual channel I am Sir your obdsvt.
