Pittsburg 24^th April 1795 Sir, You will find enclosed herewith a Receipts Roll of the Detachment Stationed at Brewer Blacks House for three Months pay Viz. October, Nov^r & December 1794. And you will also find, a Statement of Contingent Expenditures by Cap^t Beglat Howe during the march of his Detachment from West Point to [Continued the 18^th April 1795] Fort Fayette in the Year 1794. This Statement is accompanied by relative Receipts & Certificates as Vouchers to establish the several Charges which all appear to me Just & reasonable, but not having hitherto been instructed to pay similar Accounts, I have at Major Howes request transmitted it to you. He informs me that he received a Sum of Money in advance on Contingent Account at the War Office, for which you will Observe he has not given Credits, & he now informs me that he has appointed a M^r Barns Merchant of Philadelphia his Attorney to obtain a final Settlement of his account.
