Sir, War Office April 17. 1795.
I have received yours of the 12th. I am sorry the shot and kentledge cast by Mr Faesch & Co are so bad. A copy of the contract is inclosed. The models for the shot were expressly made with great exactness, and those for the kentledge of a uniform shape and exactly squared. The dimensions of all are noted in the inclosed Statement. Mr Faesch himself, I am informed, received the models in Philadelphia. — Seeing the execution is so bad, I pray you to make a critical examination of the whole, and to report the result minutely.
I am, Sir,
with respect & esteem
