The Quarter Master General & his Lady set off for your City on the 4^th Instant. It is therefore probable you will see him before this reaches you; he has promised to give every necessary Assistance in Obtaining, a settlement of Major Linly's, Archibald Reid's, & General St.Clair's Carriage Accts. In order that their Amount may pass to my credit. I find on the minutest enquiry that Cordage for Vessels of the Burthen you mention, cannot at present be manufactured in this neighbourhood, for notwithstanding Hemp may be procured the necessary Apparatus for making large Cordage has not yet been established at this place.
