101 W. D. March 20th 1795 Henry Jackson Esq Sir, The Secretary of the Treasury has sent me a letter from Natl Cushing, of which the inclosed is a Copy; relative to the anchors he has been making for the United States, and desires that an Inspector may be appointed to examine them, according to the terms of the contract. I have to request you to appoint a suitable person for the purpose - a man of judgment & integrity, on whose report the Public may rely. His report you will be so good as to transmit to this office – A duplicate of it will be proper for M Cushing as a voucher to present with his account to the Treasury Department. Will the situation of the Navy yard at Boston admit of having these anchors lodged there? If it will, the Clerk of the yard may receipt for them, & take them under his care. Otherwise you will be pleased to have them received & safely deposited.
