I have this moment received your Letter of the 6th Instant, wherein you state, the many difficulties in the way of Obtaining at the Treasury the necessary supplies of Cash for the Q. M. Dept. by this statement, I am led to presume you have not recd my Letter of the 17th Ultimo, transmitted by The Hands of Col. McNair, which I apprehend would have Obviated some of the Difficulties you mention. You will therefore find a Duplicate of that Letter enclosed, to which I have to beg your immediate & particular attention
my Letter by Last Post. Viz of the 5th Instant, has pointed out some of the purposes for which cash is immediately wanted. I have some times ago applyd to you for a sett of books rul'd for Doll.s & Cents. I hope you have not forgot them. Please to send them forward as soon as possible
