[Samuel Hodgdon Esq^r] Friday morn^g 4 Dear Sir, I enclofe a bill of exchange & Duplicate for 1500 Dollars upon M^r Ludlow. It would feem reasonable & proper that the half of the fum should be advanced to me now, & the other paid upon notice received that the bill is discharged. It would accommodate me much if you would fo arrange the matter, and if you deem it neceffary, I will enter into an engagement to make good any intereft or damage which fhould accrue in cafe of non payment.
