Lamberton 13^th February 1795 Sir, Your favor of the 20^th inst^t I have the pleasure to acknowledge the receipt of, and agreeable to your direction have procured the two Brass pieces of Ordnance which were in possession of Cap^t Clinn, which are put on Board the Sloop Washington, Cap^t Voorheis who will deliver them. I considered this mode of conveyance so much cheaper to the Public, more especially from the situation of the Roads and the consequent extra demands for Transportation, that I have adopted it I am Sir Col^o Sam^l Hodgdon Your most hum Ser^vt P.H. Lumbⁿ Feby 25 1795 Sir The above Captain Voorhis will deliver you the two p^d Cannon from Delawn works with their apparatus & 40 Lbs of lead, I have advice from different parts of the State of Muskets, Bayonets, Pistols & swords & other articles of publick Stores, am of opinion that if I was to advertise in the N. Jersey paper for them to be forwarded to me it would be [undecipherable] to good Account, as many of the Cavalry were dismissed on the rout & others were distributed to the nearest routs home, from Easton, & others never new that they were to return their accoutrements — your advising it & directions in this business will be attended to — I am Col.
