[February 12th 1795 / Secretary at War / Mr. [undecipherable] / [undecipherable]]
F D January 10: 1795
I have the honour to transmit a letter from the Comr of the Revenue to my predecessor dated the 1st of January with sundry estimates of Supplies which have been required for the Dept of War.
As these estimates were framed in July last on a view of circumstances materially different, from those [strikethrough: afforded] [strikethrough: to present,] [strikethrough: Wantist] I have thought it probable that on [strikethrough: occasion] reconsideration a considerable reduction of the demand, might take place without injury to the public service.
I therefore request that the subject may be kept under your consideration, and that you would favour me with your sentiments as soon as may be convenient, in order to a ready arrangement for obtaining such Supplies as may be [strikethrough: ——] judged necessary.
I have the honour &c
