The whole of which he wishes drained of his hands, in order to avoid the risque of remitting it to the Treasury — In the Course of repairing and cleaning the arms left here by the Militia, a number of Bayonets is wanting, the Spare bayonets received of M^r Nicholson have been applied & still Seventy five or eighty are Wanting — Ross and [undecipherable] the Armourers have cleaned a number of Muskets by Candle Light for which I agreed to allow the same Compensation that has heretofore been paid by you, to Similar work in Philadelphia which you will please to inform me. Two hundred w^t of [undecipherable]= =[undecipherable] & one hundred w^t of Blister Steel is immediately wanted in Order to carry on the ax making &c Coll Sergeant^s Box mentioned in your letter of the 29^th Ultimo arrived Yesterday & shall go forward as soon as the River is clear at Present it is shut up with ice.
