Your letter of the 1st Inst.t I have
received, [undecipherable] the enclosure which [undecipherable] I would wish to
be informed why you have made up Mr [undecipherable: Maugm]
only from the 1st of December, & by whose orders
the Sum of Sixty dollars was allowed him for the
Rent of a Fortification Office — Also in Respect
to Mr Morance, who was employed by and the
date of his Appointment; which when done [undecipherable]
