Sir,
I find that the Contractors for shoes for 1795, Object to the shoe strings in the patterns sent them. They say there were none on that exhibited; and refuse to deliver with Strings. The Inspector is averse to accepting the shoes without. Be pleased to inform me how this matter stands, so that the Secretary of the Treasury may be able to instruct the Inspector.
Tho done with the Treasury Business for the War Department, I have constantly aided when requested in the completion of those things which were commenced by me. —
