John Pavi the waggoner arrived here on the 2^d Instant, with M^rs Pike her children & baggage together with sundry other articles without Invoice for all of which I have transmitted you a receipt by Post, by whom I have sent the black Horse brought here by M^r Stewarts. Not being favored with a remittance by last Post as I expected that day, I was under a necessity of drawing on you in favor of Oliver & [undecipherable] Barker at two days sight for nine hundred & Eighty seven Dollars to [undecipherable] therefore to accept & pay this bill & charge it my Acct Pub War Department as usual. A Trunk of Colo Hamiltons is still here, I have not yet found an Opportunity of sending it to Philadelphia but expect one in a few days. Poor the waggoner being poor indeed I was under a necessity of letting him have ten dollars, with which you will please to charge to Team & place, to my credit. Yours receipt is enclosed, a supply of muskets is immediately wanted, those formerly sent being all worked into use, & the military are Idle.
