[Jan. 3. 1795 — of Col. Geo. Fleming, from [undecipherable]] West Point, Jan. 3. 1795 Sir, Your favor of the 4^th ultimo I received the 11^th of same month. I now enclose my account of contingent expences at this garrison, dated the last day of last month, with the vouchers to [strikethrough: the] my account & vouchers for inlisting soldiers, and my account current dated the 21^st of last month. In a letter to you dated the 23^d of November, I mentioned Capt. Scott having received of Col. Fish his money, you informed me the 19 of same month you had forwarded for me. Capt. Scott now owes me upwards of ninety dollars — part of it I let him have as he was necessitated for it, & the other part he retained out of Publick monies I sent him to New York for. He promises me he will send for money to your city & pay me. I shall be careful in future not to let him have any more. I find it impossible to send vouchers to make a close of the money business at this time. I sincerely wish I could, for I am heartily tired of it. I have requested the hon. the Secretary of War to forward to me, without delay, four thousand dollars for contingent expences at this garrison — which sum I expect will enable me to fulfil my contracts for the Publick.
